What Every Professional Must Provide to Work Through TaskLync

No documents, no badge. Here is exactly what we require from every professional before they can take a single job, and why missing even one item gets an account suspended until it is resolved.

Trust is not something TaskLync asks homeowners to extend on good faith. It is something we require professionals to earn with actual documentation before they are allowed to work through the platform at all. Below is exactly what that means, category by category, and what happens if any of it is missing.

Identity: Who You Are

Before anything else, we need to know that the person applying is a real, verifiable individual. This category covers a government issued photo ID, proof of address from within the last 90 days, and a biometric selfie check that confirms the person applying is a live match to the ID they submitted.

This is not a formality. A professional could otherwise apply under a false name or borrowed credentials, and everything that follows, the background check, the licence verification, would be meaningless if the identity behind it was never real to begin with.

Licensing: Trade Credentials

For any trade that requires one, a current licence or certification is mandatory, along with business registration where applicable. We do not take a professional's word for it. Every credential is cross referenced against the official registry that issued it, confirming it is real, current, and covers the work being offered.

A licence that cannot be confirmed against the source is treated the same as no licence at all. There is no partial credit for a document that looks right but cannot be verified.

Verification: Background Checks

Every professional completes a full background check, and the process does not stop at pulling a record. Two professional references are contacted directly, not just listed. Work portfolios are reviewed for authenticity, not simply accepted at face value. And any prior history on the platform is checked before approval moves forward. All of it is reviewed against a signed checklist by our onboarding team, not automated and forgotten.

Insurance: Fully Covered

Active public liability insurance is mandatory on every job, no exceptions. We confirm the certificate, track the expiry date, and send renewal reminders so coverage does not quietly lapse without anyone noticing. Where relevant, employers' liability coverage is required as well.

Insurance protects you if something goes wrong while a professional is working in your home. Without it, any damage or injury on your property becomes your problem to sort out. With it, that risk sits where it belongs.

No Exceptions, No Partial Credit

These four categories are not a checklist professionals can complete partially and still get approved. They are minimum requirements, and any professional missing even one item is suspended until it is resolved. That applies the same way to a first time applicant and a professional who has been working through TaskLync for a year. Documentation does not become optional with tenure.

The Bottom Line

Identity confirmed. Trade credentials verified at the source. A real background check, not a formality. Active insurance that stays active. That is what every professional on TaskLync has to provide before they are allowed to take a single job, and it is what keeps the badge on their profile meaning something you can actually rely on.
